Quakea
Quakea
The Quakea is developed in April 2012 and embodies Jasper&Jasper’s philosophy on electro-acoustic performance. It consists of a framework, bicycle tires, some contact microphones and a software package that runs in the background. By restricting any other interfaces, sensors or electronic control mechanisms, it creates the illusion that every sound is coming from the instrument itself. The interaction with the computer proceeds by analysing the acoustical sounds in many ways (with the so-called pitch, amplitude, spectrum & duration).
The Quakea was already integrated in many different projects. A piece called “Quakea Quartet” was one of the headliners of the 2013 Transit Festival in Leuven, Belgium. Above, you’ll find some photo’s about this project and related.
